The face and upper body of Jesus are not realistic, as in the original sculpture, but have been reduced to abstract polygons. Seeing this here now, I think it is because the focus is on Mary, the mother figure, and the connection of that symbol with JH's character. As a stand-alone work of art, the statue itself is equally about Mary and about Jesus, but for this video, the statue is a reference to the Mama theme - the role a mother plays. Jesus as an historical or religious figure is not the focus for this video. In fact, making his face generic could mean this figure stands for any grown child, and the sorrow - or the loss - of their mother.

WAIT! for you to see RM's four music videos from his latest album Right Place Wrong Person. "Lost!" was even just recently selected for viewing at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. You might recognize the directors of "Come Back To Me" and "Lost!". Though "Domodachi" actually the one I'm most excited about hearing your opinion/analysis, because it makes my brain itch in the best way and I feel like I have several theories. The last one is called "Credit Roll" and it is extremely short, but also telling (especially if you look at the lyrics too).
